Tunisia Investment Authority (TIA) and European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) launched, Wednesday, June 07, 2023, a project to develop the National Investment Platform.
The new EBRD-funded platform aims to transform the existing TIA platform into a National Investment Platform that will serve as a single portal for all investment services, improving investor service delivery and ensuring proper tracking of requests submitted through the platform.
Supporting the business climate in Tunisia, the Bank also provided technical assistance to the TIA Strategic Council to strengthen public-private dialogue to propose policies and reforms to improve the investment climate. Several recommendations from this council have been concretized in the various legislation relating to the investment climate.
The launch ceremony was chaired by TIA President Mrs. Namia Ayadi, and EBRD Senior Vice-President Mr. Jürgen Rigterink.
During the ceremony, EBRD First Vice President Jürgen Rigterink said: “We are very proud of our continued partnership with the Tunisian Investment Authority and to strengthen the business ecosystem and improve investors’ experience in their endeavours through this new one-stop-shop platform. We hope this digital tool will provide useful guidance to investors and accelerate additional direct business investments in Tunisia.”
Mrs Namia Ayadi, President of TIA said “I’m very glad to announce a project that enables investors to benefit from a digital one-stop-shop for all investments services. The new National Investment Platform support digital connectivity infrastructure and digital investment services that strengthen open, inclusive, and secure digital investment ecosystem in Tunisia. The EBRD partnership offers a very important opportunity for us to expand what has been done in improving the investment climate in Tunisia and we hope this will be one of many joint actions in support of attracting new FDIs in the country”.
In 2022, TIA, in collaboration with the EBRD, launched an interactive digital guide for investors to facilitate access to information on the investment framework, investor journey and investment opportunities. https://guide.tia.gov.tn/en
